Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir on Monday said that any aggression or violation of Pakistan\u2019s territorial sovereignty would be responded to with \u201cfull national resolve and military might\u201d.<\/p>\n

His remarks came as the nation observes Kashmir Solidarity Day to reaffirm unwavering support for the relentless struggle of the Kashmiri people.<\/p>\n

The people and the government of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir observe Solidarity Day every year not only to renew their love and affection with the people of occupied Kashmir but also to reiterate their commitment and dedication to the liberation of Kashmir from Indian subjugation.<\/p>\n

According to a press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief laid a floral wreath at the Martyrs\u2019 Monument in Muzaffarabad and paid tribute to the supreme sacrifices of martyrs.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe leadership acknowledged that the fortitude, resilience and unwavering faith of Kashmiris in the face of unabated brutality of Indian occupation forces in IIOJK had been exemplary,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe brewing humanitarian and security crises in the IIOJK seriously threaten regional peace and stability. Pakistan would always stand with Kashmiris in their just struggle for the inalienable right to self-determination in light of UNSC resolutions,\u201d the military\u2019s media affairs wing said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIndia is attempting to change the demography of IIOJK through illegal administrative and unilaterally imposed draconian laws and security clampdowns. Such machinations cannot suppress the will and the yearning of the Kashmiri people to attain their legitimate objectives,\u201d the ISPR added.<\/p>\n

It stated that the COAS was also briefed about the latest situation along the Line of Control (LOC). He appreciated the \u201coperational readiness, high morale and effective response of troops to Indian CFVs\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cPakistan Army is well versed with the full threat spectrum and is perpetually ready to respond effectively,\u201d the ISPR quoted Gen Munir as saying.<\/p>\n

\u201c[The] COAS also mentioned the Indian state-sponsored terrorism in Pakistan
\nwhich now extended to the heinous targeting of individual Pakistani
\ncitizens on our soil.<\/p>\n

\u201cSuch callous disregard for international law and norms of the international system was becoming a routine occurrence and India was now being called out openly by many countries in the world, exposing her sham credentials,\u201d it said, adding that Pakistan would continue to expose all such attempts.<\/p>\n

\u2018Occassion to pay rich tribute to Kashmiris\u2019 sacrifices\u2019<\/h2>\n

Meanwhile, in a statement, interim Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar said that this was an occasion to pay rich tribute to the sacrifices made by the Kashmiris during the last 76 years.<\/p>\n

According to state-run Radio Pakistan<\/em>, he said that the relevant UN Security Council (UNSC) resolutions provided that the final disposition of held Kashmir would be made as per the will of the people through the \u201cdemocratic method of a free and impartial plebiscite\u201d conducted under the UN.<\/p>\n

In his message, President Dr Arif Alvi said that the people of the occupied valley had been struggling to realise their right to self-determination for 76 years.<\/p>\n

He noted that the UN General Assembly annually adopted a resolution expressing unequivocal support for the realisation of the right to self-determination for people under foreign occupation, Radio Pakistan<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cRegrettably, the Kashmiri people have not been able to exercise this inalienable right,\u201d Alvi said.<\/p>\n

He further said that Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) was \u201cone of the most militarised zones in the world\u201d where \u201cKashmiris are living in an environment of fear and intimidation.\u201d<\/p>\n

The president said that following August 5, 2019 \u2014 when India had revoked<\/a> the region\u2019s special autonomy \u2014 India\u2019s efforts were aimed at \u201cengineering demographic and political changes so that the Kashmiris are transformed into a disempowered community in their own land\u201d.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, caretaker Information Minister Murtaza Solangi said IIOJK was one of the longest-standing issues on UNSC\u2019s agenda.<\/p>\n

He said Pakistan\u2019s ultimate goal was to resolve the issue in accordance with the wishes of the Kashmiri people and the relevant UN resolutions.<\/p>\n

Solangi, alongside Privatisation Minister Fawad Hassan Fawad, also took part in a rally in Islamabad in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day.<\/p>\n

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said the party\u2019s success on February 8, when general elections are scheduled to take place, was essential for stopping Indian atrocities in held Kashmir<\/p>\n

\u201cGod willingly, I will advance the cause of Kashmir after being elected prime minister,\u201d Bilawal said in a statement posted by the party on social media platform X.<\/p>\n

In a separate post, Bilawal said, \u201cOn Kashmir Solidarity Day, we stand firmly with IIOJK\u2019s courageous struggle for self-determination, a right granted by UNSC resolutions.<\/p>\n

\u201cIndia\u2019s actions on August 5, 2019, were a blatant violation of international law, contradicting UNSC mandates on the disputed territory. We honour the Kashmiri peoples struggle for peace, freedom, security, and dignity, and stand steadfast with them in their cause,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

PPP\u2019s Sherry Rehman said Pakistan needed to remind the world to stand with the Kashmiri people in search of their rights which were taken for granted by \u201ceveryone else\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a poignant reminder of the unfinished business of Partition, and the denial of the aspirations of the Kashmiri people, leaving the region with an open wound that can only be healed by a fair and just solution for the long-standing issue of Kashmir in line with UN resolutions,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe strongly condemn the human rights violations and atrocities perpetrated in Indian illegally occupied Kashmir.
