In the face of challenging circumstances, marked by the obstruction of access to the party’s Central Secretariat by law enforcement, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has unanimously designated Raoof Hasan as the Chief Election Commissioner to oversee the forthcoming intra-party elections.<\/p>\n

This decision transpired during the PTI’s general body meeting, convened virtually on Wednesday via video link due to the closure of the party\u2019s Central Secretariat.<\/p>\n

Notable attendees included PTI leaders Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Omar Ayub, and Raoof Hassan, alongside members and officials from Quetta, Peshawar, and Islamabad, among others.<\/p>\n

The agenda of the meeting encompassed the presentation of a resolution pertaining to the upcoming intra-party elections, with the formulation of a strategy for completing the electoral process within a 15-day timeframe.<\/p>\n

PTI Spokesperson Raoof Hasan communicated on social media, stating that the formal proceedings of the PTI’s general body had commenced nationwide, both in physical and virtual realms.<\/p>\n

The primary objective was to elect a new federal election commissioner and five members of the commission, thereby laying the groundwork for the upcoming intra-party elections. Additional resolutions are expected to be adopted during the general body meeting.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Hasan underscored the adverse situation where law enforcement has obstructed access to the PTI Central Secretariat, hindering the scheduled general body meeting related to the intra-party elections.<\/p>\n
