Officials of the Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) have kicked off clearing snow and lifting garbage from Murree roads after the popular hill station received the season\u2019s first snowfall on Monday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Motorists easily moved in and around Murree and traffic flow remained normal because of efforts of the company on Monday.<\/span><\/p>\n

RWMC chief executive officer Rana Sajid Safdar had issued instructions to the operation staff to appoint additional number of workers as soon as the snow season begins in Murree.<\/span><\/p>\n

The operational staff worked to remove snow from the roads and paths during the first snowfall and also maintained cleanliness as a good number of visitors arrived in the city.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lauding the arrangements put in place by the RWMC, the visitors said that the staff is busy in removing the snow from roads despite cold and that they haven\u2019t seen garbage in the city.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Murree district administration has advised the tourists to get weather updates and traffic-related information prior to traveling to Murree.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to a Murree district administration spokesman, the administration on the special directives of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Murree, Zaheer Abbas Sherazi had finalised all arrangements for snowfall season. The tourists were being given information about weather updates and travel advisories at all entry points of Murree, he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

The official said that the tourists had been advised to take all due precautions. The tourists had also been requested to follow the instructions being given at the entry points, he said, adding that strict action by the law was also being taken against parking rules violators.<\/span><\/p>\n

Murree District Administration had set up a special control room to facilitate the people, particularly tourists, he added. The control room was working round the clock under the supervision of senior officers. In case of any difficulty, the tourists could get help and guidance from the tourist facilitation centers. The citizens were also advised to follow the traffic rules to ensure the flow of traffic on the roads.<\/span><\/p>\n
