The election for the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is scheduled to take place on February 6, 2024 as per media reports.<\/p>\n

Election Commissioner Shah Khawar has summoned a special meeting of the Board of Governors (BoG) for this purpose, which will be held at the National Cricket Academy Lahore (NCA).<\/p>\n

In accordance with the PCB Constitution of 2014, all members of the BoG are required to attend the meeting in person.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“The notice of the meeting is issued as per the provisions of the constitution of the Pakistan Cricket Board 2014. It is mandatory for all the members of the BoG to attend the meeting in person,” PCB stated.<\/p>\n

The current composition of the Board of Governors includes representatives from various regional cricket associations as well as nominees from different organizations.<\/p>\n

Following the resignation of former Chairman Zaka Ashraf, Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi has been nominated for the role of Chairman of the PCB Management Committee.<\/p>\n

As per the PCB Constitution, in the absence of a Chairman, all powers are transferred to the Chief Election Commissioner. Shah Khawar, as the Election Commissioner, is tasked with completing the election process within four weeks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

If the election proceeds as planned on February 6, Naqvi, having retired from the duties of caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, could assume the chairmanship within a week after the election results are declared.<\/p>\n
