K-pop rapper Min Yoon-gi aka Suga of the globally popular all-boys band BTS bid an emotional goodbye to ARMY before starting mandatory military service.<\/strong><\/p>\n

K-pop band member Suga is set to start his military duty later this week, BTS\u2019 agency Big Hit Entertainment confirmed in a statement over the weekend, which read, \u201cHello. This is BigHit Music. Thank you for your continued support for BTS. We have further information regarding Suga\u2019s military service.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSuga will be beginning his required service on September 22. There will not be any official events taking place on the day he starts his service or on the day he enters the training camp,\u201d the company announced.<\/p>\n

The company further urged the ARMY to \u2018refrain from visiting Suga at his workplace\u2019 during his period of service and should only send warm regards to the performer within their hearts.<\/p>\n

Moreover, before taking on this mandatory service and handing over his phone, Suga bid an emotional goodbye to the millions of fans in an expected-to-be final live session on the fan platform WeVerse.<\/p>\n

Appearing with a shorter hairstyle and misty eyes, the rapper said in the session, \u201cHello, it\u2019s nice to see you. It\u2019s me, Suga. I cut my hair a bit. My hair is very short, right? I can\u2019t get used to it too. The staff could not recognise me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Further updating on his show \u2018Suchwita\u2019<\/em>, Suga mentioned that he won\u2019t be able to continue it during the service, however, assured that he has filmed a lot of content for his fans and they should look forward to it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d be lying if I say [I\u2019ll return] soon. So let\u2019s meet in 2025,\u201d Suga concluded.<\/p>\n

It is pertinent to mention here that Suga, 30, is the third member of the K-pop boys septet, after Jin and J-Hope, to be starting his military duty, after the boy band announced a hiatus from group activities in June last year, to complete their mandatory service.<\/p>\n

For the unversed, South Korea requires all able-bodied men aged between 18 and 28 to serve in the military for about two years, a measure that has long been a source of controversy. A 2019 revision of the law allowed globally recognised K-pop sensation, BTS to delay service until the age of 30.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
