Dr Farooq Sattar, Senior\u00a0\u00a0 Deputy Convener of Muttahida\u00a0 Qaumi Movement-Pakistan\u00a0 and\u00a0\u00a0 candidate for National\u00a0 Assembly constituency NA- 241 on Sunday inaugurated\u00a0 his main election office at\u00a0 Pakistan Chowk.\u00a0 Engaging in corner meetings in PNT Colony areas\u00a0\u00a0 and the Cantonment Board, he later interacted\u00a0\u00a0 with the youth in the commercial areas of DHA\u00a0\u00a0 Phase-VIII During the corner meetings, Dr Sattar appealed to the citizens of Sindh, particularly Karachi, to cast\u00a0\u00a0 their votes for the kite symbol on February 8. He urged the people to scrutinise the 15-year-rule in the province and take stock of the alleged destruction caused by the rulers.<\/p>\n

Highlighting the fiscal\u00a0\u00a0 disparities, he emphasised that Karachi contributes\u00a0\u00a0 R4,000 billion in taxes but receives only Rs40 billion in return.\u00a0 He asserted that unless\u00a0\u00a0 Karachi is granted its rightful share, at least Rs400\u00a0\u00a0 billion, the city will reconsider its substantial tax\u00a0\u00a0 contribution to the federal government.\u00a0 The MQM-P\u00a0\u00a0 leader stated, it\u2019s time to\u00a0\u00a0 oust those who have been in power for 15 years and\u00a0\u00a0 delivered nothing except for serving their own interests.\u00a0 In discussions with Christian and Hindu communities, Dr Sattar affirmed his party\u2019s commitment to providing minorities with a direct role in the elections<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
