Accompanied by Deputy Governor SBP, Mr. SaleemUllah, and senior bank officials, the two-week exhibition, organized by the Japan Foundation in collaboration with the State Bank Museum and Pakistan Japan Cultural Association (PJCA) Sindh, is part of the Consulate General of Japan\u2019s efforts to promote cultural exchange. Governor Jameel Ahmad emphasized the significance of cultural exchanges in fostering understanding and goodwill between nations, citing the enduring interest in Japanese culture, particularly ceramics, among the Pakistani public.<\/p>\n<p>Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Jameel Ahmad highlighted the 1957 Cultural Agreement between Pakistan and Japan as the foundation for bilateral relations, underscoring its role in expanding cultural ties. Highlighting the historical collaboration in financial institutions, Ahmad noted the opening of the Bank of Tokyo\u2019s third-ever overseas branch in Karachi in 1953.<\/p>\n<p>Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Jameel Ahmad expressed the belief that collaboration between the two countries could enhance trade, investment, and the exchange of information and best practices in financial systems. HATTORI Masaru, Consul General of Japan, expressed delight at the Pakistani audience\u2019s interest in Japanese culture.<\/p>\n<p>Masaru, Consul General of Japan pledged the Consulate\u2019s commitment to bringing and curating more Japanese cultural exchange programs to strengthen bilateral relations. Running until February 7th, 2024, the exhibition introduces the yakishime ceramics technique, showcasing over 80 pieces from historical to contemporary works.<\/p>\n<p>Alongside the pottery display, the State Bank Museum will host Japan-related lectures and workshops on Calligraphy, Indigo<\/p>\n<p>Dye, Pottery, and Origami. The annual Japanese Calendar exhibition will also coincide with the event from January 26th to February 7th.
