{"id":51350,"date":"2024-01-23T09:16:06","date_gmt":"2024-01-23T09:16:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/imran-khan-approaches-ihc-for-bail-in-thoshakhana-al-qadir-trust-cases-pakistan-observer\/"},"modified":"2024-01-23T09:16:06","modified_gmt":"2024-01-23T09:16:06","slug":"imran-khan-approaches-ihc-for-bail-in-thoshakhana-al-qadir-trust-cases-pakistan-observer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/imran-khan-approaches-ihc-for-bail-in-thoshakhana-al-qadir-trust-cases-pakistan-observer\/","title":{"rendered":"Imran Khan approaches IHC for bail in Thoshakhana, Al-Qadir Trust cases\u00a0 &#8211; Pakistan Observer"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<tts-play-button data-id=\"2\" class=\"tts_play_button\"\/><\/p>\n<p>ISLAMABAD \u2013 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday appealed to the Islamabad High Court seeking bail in the Toshakhana and Al-Qadir Trust cases.<\/p>\n<p>Imran Khan approached the IHC after an accountability court turned down his pleas for bail after arrest in both the cases<\/p>\n<p>The PTI founder moved two bail applications, submitting that the bail should be granted until the final decision in the cases.<\/p>\n<p>He made the NAB Chairman, NAB DG, and investigating officers as respondents in his applications.<\/p>\n<p>Khan said that former NAB Chairman Aftab Sultan, despite pressure, denied creating politically motivated cases against him.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the charges against him were politically motivated.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s important to note that in the previous hearing, the court had scheduled hearings on Imran Khan\u2019s \u00a3190 million case and the Toshakhana reference jail trial.<\/p>\n<p>The Islamabad High Court had issued notices to the parties involved in jail trial of the founder of PTI in NAB cases.<\/p>\n<p>The court had also sought a response from the Interior Secretary, remarking that the case should be heard before a designated bench.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the Islamabad High Court had reserved judgment on Imran Khan\u2019s appeals in the Toshakhana and Al-Qadir Trust cases against the jail trial.
