ISLAMABAD \u2013 In response to a credible terrorist threat, the multiple educational institutions in the federal capital, Islamabad, were temporarily shut down, the sources said on Monday.<\/p>\n

The measures were taken to mitigate potential risks.<\/p>\n

The decision to suspend educational activities aimed to avert any potential disaster amid concerns of an impending security threat.<\/p>\n

The sources revealed that a banned organization had allegedly devised plans for multiple \u2018terror attacks\u2019 on educational facilities, with a specific focus on schools and universities in Islamabad.<\/p>\n

The sources further said that these potential attacks could involve female suicide bombers affiliated with the banned organizations, with the timeframe set between January 22 and 24.<\/p>\n

While the relevant authorities assured the public of robust security measures in place across the capital, cautionary advice has been issued, particularly regarding election rallies and public gatherings.<\/p>\n

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) had previously issued a nationwide security high alert due to a potential terror threat, leading to intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted in Punjab.<\/p>\n
