QUETTA:<\/strong> In response to Iran\u2019s firing of drone missiles and airspace violation during the Joint Border Commission (JBC) meeting in Chah Bahar, a Pakistani delegation led by Chief Collector Customs Balochistan Bashir Memon returned abruptly. The delegation, including members of Chambers of Commerce and Industry Balochistan, senior security officers, and Balochistan government officials, left as a protest against Iran\u2019s actions, according to Abdullah Achakzai, President of Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI).<\/p>\n

JBC Discussing Terrorism, Human Trafficking<\/h2>\n

The JBC, convened quarterly to address Pak-Iran border issues, had terrorism, human trafficking, and trade on its agenda. Meanwhile, Pakistan heightened security along the 900-kilometer border, deploying Frontier Corps personnel to respond to potential Iranian aggression.<\/p>\n

Despite tensions, the Pak-Iran border remained open on Thursday, allowing routine trade and movement. A senior official at Taftan clarified that no instructions to shut down the border were received. Chief Minister Balochistan, Ali Mardan Domki, chaired a high-level meeting to review security and law and order along the border, deciding to further tighten security in bordering areas.<\/p>\n
