For all anticipating, Bollywood\u2019s spin<\/a> on Pakistani singer Ali Zafar\u2019s hit song, Jhoom<\/em>, is finally out. Featured in the upcoming Bollywood film, Crakk<\/em>, the rendition sees Indian renowned singer Shreya Ghoshal join hands with composer Vishal Mishra. Helmed by the giant music label T-Series, Dil Jhoom<\/em> is out on all streaming platforms.<\/p>\n

While fans on both sides of the border offered their two cents on the new release, the man behind the original seems content with Bollywood\u2019s recreation. Zafar approved of the song in a quote response to a post announcing Dil Jhoom<\/em>\u2019s release by T-Series on the microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter). \u201cGood stuff. I like it,\u201d complimented the Teefa in Trouble<\/em> star.<\/p>\n

Despite Pakistan and India’s frequent cultural exchange, many past attempts at producing covers\u00a0<\/em>remain mired in allegations of plagiarism. Recently, Pakistani singer Omer Nadeem claimed his 2009 song, Aey Khuda<\/em>, had been copied without due credit in T-Series 2023 song Sun Zara<\/em>, sung by Sonu Nigam and\u00a0released in collaboration with DJ Sheizwood and Kamaal R Khan (popularly known as KRK).<\/p>\n

Notably,\u00a0Dil Jhoom<\/em>\u00a0appears to have heartily complied with all due protocols of crediting original artists and inspirations. Zafar’s name appears across promotional materials as well as in the description under YouTube’s music video for having “originally written and composed” the song.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Ghoshal had taken to X, expressing her deep admiration for Zafar and showering praise on the acclaimed singer for his soulful melodies, specifically highlighting the much-loved track, Jhoom<\/em>. The singer prefaced her short note with a verse of the song\u2019s chorus, \u201cDil jhoom jhoom chale jhoom chale sohneya.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
