{"id":48237,"date":"2024-01-15T16:44:02","date_gmt":"2024-01-15T16:44:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/wolff-signs-new-contract-with-mercedes-the-express-tribune\/"},"modified":"2024-01-15T16:44:02","modified_gmt":"2024-01-15T16:44:02","slug":"wolff-signs-new-contract-with-mercedes-the-express-tribune","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/wolff-signs-new-contract-with-mercedes-the-express-tribune\/","title":{"rendered":"Wolff signs new contract with Mercedes | The Express Tribune"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"\">\n<strong class=\"location-names\"><br \/>\nLONDON:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/tribune.com.pk\/story\/2443555\/wolff-backs-hamilton-claims-as-verstappen-rules-again\">Toto Wolff<\/a> signed a three-year contract to remain as team principal and chief executive of Formula One outfit Mercedes on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The Austrian, who owns a one-third share of the Formula One team, announced the new agreement following a meeting with fellow shareholders INEOS and Mercedes-Benz.<\/p>\n<p>Wolff has overseen the day-to-day running of the operation since 2013.<\/p>\n<p>The 52-year-old guided Mercedes to eight successive Constructors&#8217; Championships from 2014-21.<\/p>\n<p>Mercedes finished as runners-up behind Red Bull in 2023 and their star man <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/tribune.com.pk\/story\/2406606\/hamilton-queasy-about-jeddah-gp-a-year-after-attack\">Lewis Hamilton<\/a> came third in the drivers&#8217; championship last term.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;At the end of the day, as a shareholder myself, I want the best return on investment. And the best return on investment is winning,&#8221; Wolff told the Daily Telegraph on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m not going to try to hang on to a position that I think somebody is going to do better than me.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I make sure that I have people around who can tell me otherwise. In the end the three of us decided: &#8216;Let&#8217;s do it again&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The risk for me is always more bore-out than burnout.
