The Supreme Court of Pakistan, has issued directions to Islamabad police to suspend five officers including the Margalla station house officer (SHO) after inquiry into the Saturday\u2019s raid at the residence of PTI leader Barrister Gohar Ali Khan<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The raid at Barrister Gohar\u2019s house, which is located in the F-7, was conducted on Saturday while he was appearing before the Supreme Court for the hearing on the petition against the restoration of the party\u2019s electoral symbol. After being informed of the raid, he told the apex court about the incident and left for his home.<\/p>\n

Later, he returned to the court and informed the bench that his son and nephew had been tortured by the police. Subsequently, the SC had taken the notice of the raid and summoned the chief of the capital police.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the police had denied about the raid at the Gohar\u2019s residence, but later a video went viral on the social media after which the police<\/a> had issued \u2018contradictory statements\u2019 on the raid.<\/p>\n

According to reports, police officers said that, \u201cThe raid was conducted on the directions made by the senior officers. A police team reached the house of the PTI leader in the four vehicles for the raid, thy stated. The team entered the house and left after confiscating a computer and some documents, they added.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the police had claimed that the house was raided on a tip-off regarding the presence of proclaimed offenders in the residence. However, the contingent returned after learning that the house belonged to the PTI leaders. The police had added that Barrister Gohar\u2019s house was raided because of the confusion about the address.<\/p>\n

Noting to the statement made by the Islamabad police in this matter, police chief Dr Akbar Nasir Khan, assured Gohar that the matter would be probed and departmental enquiry would be taken if any police officer was found guilty.<\/p>\n

Dr Nasir, appointed the district police officer as an inquiry officer with the directions to hold a fact-finding inquiry into the matter and submit a detailed report within three days.<\/p>\n
