QUETTA:<\/strong>\u00a0In a pivotal international workshop convened to address the escalating water crisis in Balochistan, a diverse array of participants gathered, representing government authorities, international partners, the private sector, civil society, academia, and media. The primary focus of discussions centered around exploring collaborative ventures between the public sector and private service providers to enhance the distribution of clean drinking water in Quetta.<\/p>\n

Water Jirga Proposed<\/h2>\n

A key highlight of the workshop was the exploration of the potential organization of a Balochistan water jirga, aimed at raising awareness about the severity of the water crisis. The proposed jirga seeks to mobilize stakeholders at various levels, ranging from local tahsil and district authorities to both provincial and federal government bodies.<\/p>\n

The event witnessed the launch of a comprehensive stakeholder analysis in the water sector, a crucial initiative undertaken by the Revival of Balochistan Water Resources project. This analysis served as the foundation for subsequent discussions and strategies to tackle the complex water challenges facing the region.<\/p>\n

Workshop Held At NIM Quetta<\/h2>\n

Held at the esteemed National Institute of Management in Quetta, the workshop serves as a springboard for a series of upcoming training sessions organized under the project. These sessions aim to empower participants with the knowledge and skills required to actively contribute to addressing and resolving the water crisis in Balochistan.<\/p>\n

As the world grapples with increasingly pressing environmental issues, this collaborative effort underscores the importance of multi-stakeholder engagement and innovative solutions to ensure sustainable water management in Balochistan.<\/p>\n
