{"id":46769,"date":"2024-01-11T23:17:04","date_gmt":"2024-01-11T23:17:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/pakistan-supports-south-africas-application-against-israel-in-icj-fo\/"},"modified":"2024-01-11T23:17:04","modified_gmt":"2024-01-11T23:17:04","slug":"pakistan-supports-south-africas-application-against-israel-in-icj-fo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/pakistan-supports-south-africas-application-against-israel-in-icj-fo\/","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan supports South Africa\u2019s application against Israel in ICJ: FO"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_86\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p><strong>ISLAMABAD: \u201cPakistan supports the application filed by South Africa before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) concerning Israel\u2019s violations of its obligations under the 1951 Genocide Convention in relation to the Palestinian people in Gaza,\u201d ARY News reported quoting MoFA.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe consider this legal action timely and an important step towards holding Israel to account for its well-documented atrocities unleashed against Palestinian people since 7th October 2023,\u201d the Foreign Office Spokesperson said during her weekly press briefing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPakistan shares the concerns raised in the application by South Africa. Israel\u2019s ongoing military aggression and actions against the Palestinian people constitute war crimes and crimes against humanity and amount to genocidal act,\u201d she remarked.<\/p>\n<p>She said, \u201cWe reiterate our call for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire; an end to Israel\u2019s unabated massacre of the Palestinian people; an uplifting of an inhumane siege; and expeditious delivery of humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPakistan firmly believes that the only just solution to the Palestinian question is the creation of an independent, viable, sovereign and contiguous Palestinian State along the pre-June 1967 borders with Al-Quds-Al-Sharif as its capital,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>It is pertinent to mention here that South Africa filed a case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) accusing Israel of engaging in \u201cgenocidal acts\u201d in Gaza and asking the court to order the Israeli government to halt its
