They have a dedicated fan base which is always wanting more engaging content.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u2018<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Game Of Thrones<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u2018 lasted for eight seasons. The epic, which is the live adaptation of George R.R. Martin\u2019s novel series \u2018<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A Song of Ice and Fire<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u2018, was praised for its gripping storyline, acting and action sequences.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"ast-oembed-container \" style=\"height: 100%;\"><iframe title=\"Game of Thrones: &quot;Iron Throne Preview&quot; (HBO)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hhqRmcsWqac?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Things started to go wrong for the franchise when they moved away from the source material i.e. the books. The show\u2019s seventh and eighth seasons were widely criticized by fans for its rushed ending especially the dramatic transformation of Daenerys Targaryen from a beloved protagonist to one of the most hated villains in history.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">David Benioff and D.B. Weiss had planned to work on a Star Wars film. In an interview, they revealed that the project was titled \u2018The First Jedi\u2019 and would showcase the origins of the \u201clightsaber\u201d weapon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"ast-oembed-container \" style=\"height: 100%;\"><iframe title=\"Star Wars || We Will Rock You\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/roI31M7Wvkw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">D.B. Weiss said the rejection was a low point.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cIt\u2019s kind of a low point,\u201d D.B. Weiss said as quoted by the US showbiz news website Fandomwire in its report. \u201cYou try things that feel like they are worth doing and some of them work out, and some don\u2019t.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Benioff added, \u201cWe wanted to do \u2018The First Jedi\u2019. Basically how the Jedi Order came to be, why it came to be, the first lightsaber.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The former revealed why their project never got to see the light. He accused Lucasfilm for not wanting to adjust to the duo\u2019s vision and the production company wanted them to be their \u201cdroids\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">This made them part ways.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201c[Lucasfilm] ended up not wanting to do a \u2018<em>First Jedi<\/em>\u2018 story. We had a very specific story idea in mind, and ultimately they decided they didn\u2019t want to do that. And we totally get it. It\u2019s their company and their IP, but we weren\u2019t the droids they were looking for.\u201d said David Benioff.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">D.B. Weiss added, \u201cAnd we were annoyed as hell when [Rian Johnson, the duo\u2019s longtime friend and 3BP producer] called his movie The Last Jedi.
