In the second meeting of the Trilateral Defence Collaboration held on Tuesday at the GHQ, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and T\u00fcrkiye discussed potential collaboration in defence equipment technologies including research and development.<\/p>\n

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the three sides reaffirmed the salience of \u201ccombining the intellectual, technical, financial as well as human resources of the three friendly nations towards the achievement of shared objectives and attainment of self-sufficiency in the defence domain\u201d.<\/p>\n

Acknowledging their historical relations, the three countries reiterated the strategic intent to increase the scope of trilateral cooperation and the need to enhance the pace of collaboration in pursuit of common goals, the military\u2019s media wing further said.<\/p>\n

The statement added that it was decided today that the three nations would convene their next meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia during the World Defence Show.<\/p>\n

The event is scheduled to take place in February.<\/p>\n

COAS’ meetings in Bahrain<\/strong><\/p>\n

During his two-day visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir had engaged<\/a> in key meetings with Bahraini dignitaries, including His Majesty The King, Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Field Marshal Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa (Commander of Bahrain Defence Forces), and Gen Shaikh Mohammad bin Isa Al Khalifa (Commander of Bahrain National Guard).<\/p>\n

A statement released by ISPR on Janaury 8 stated that discussions during these meetings focused on matters of mutual interest, including military and security cooperation between Pakistan and Bahrain.<\/p>\n

The dignitaries had acknowledged and applauded the achievements of Pakistan Army in the fight against terrorism and its ongoing efforts to promote regional peace and stability.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that yesterday the COAS was conferred the Military Medal Order of Bahrain First Class by the the king of Bahrain and was also the chief guest at the 27th Raising Day of the Bahrain National Guard.<\/p>\n
