During a recent guest appearance on the Adnan Faisal Podcast<\/em><\/a>, actor, comedian, and musician Ahmed Ali Butt opened up about his wife Fatima Khan\u2019s transition from being a “modern”, London-based, city girl to becoming a deeply religious person who diligently observes hijab<\/em>.<\/p>\n

While conversing with the host, Ahmed shared that his and Fatima’s relationship started with a friendship and that in those days, Fatima had assimilated herself into Western culture and was \u201cmodern\u201d in her ways and thinking. He revealed that her environment of living in a city like London for a prolonged period of time and her employment at a fashion house had resulted in a certain lifestyle, which she made a dramatic shift from once she married the star. “When I married her, she was [like] Kim Kardashian,” revealed Ahmed.<\/p>\n

Explaining further, Ahmed shared that he had a “love-arranged marriage,” where he arranged to marry his love. Talking about her transition, Ahmed said, “Fatima was always a spiritual woman and a very strong-headed woman.” Continuing further, the Jawani Phir Nahi Ani<\/em> star further shed light on how Fatima was intrigued to do her own research on Islam and study the religion once they returned to Pakistan after their marriage and how that triggered her calling. \u201cFatima is a lot more spiritual than me,\u201d stated Ahmed.<\/p>\n

Speaking about his marriage and the partnership between him and his wife, the former Entity Paradigm<\/em> (popularly known as E.P.<\/em>) band member said that he and Fatima have always operated on the principles of mutual love and respect. \u201cSpend your life with someone who you have mutual understanding and respect with, and someone who you know will appreciate you and elevate you,\u201d he shared. He also said that he has never believed in the concept of dictating one\u2019s partner and had no hand to play in Fatima\u2019s increased adoption of Islamic teachings\u2014a journey which she undertook all on her own, according to Ahmed.<\/p>\n

As the conversation went on, Ahmed also admitted that Fatima\u2019s role as a wife and mother was a full-time job and that her claiming full responsibility for taking care of their household and raising their son Azaan was what allowed him to pursue his career without any worries. He confirmed that without his wife\u2019s support, he would not be able to achieve his artistic ambitions. “I’m here because Fatima is at home taking care of my child and my house. That’s a 24-hour job. Because of her, I’m able to do this,” said the star.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Ahmed shared details of how Fatima discussed her decision to wear the hijab with him and reacted with surprise when Ahmed expressed his full support. The Parey Hut Love<\/em> actor then went on to explain how Fatima\u2019s newfound passion for Islam was not unusual for him because he had grown up in a very spiritual household. Throughout his childhood and adulthood, he had seen members of his household and family engaged in religious activities like giving alms and charity.<\/p>\n

The musician turned actor and comedian will be coming out with his own podcast soon, which is titled Excuse me with Ahmed Ali Butt<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
