Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sensharma shared memorable on-screen chemistry in the 2009 romantic comedy, Wake Up Sid, which earned praise from all quarters. The Ayan Mukerji directorial became a cult classic, which somehow played an essential role in uplifting Kapoor’s career in earlier days.<\/p>\n

Now, a behind-the-scenes video featuring the duo, potentially from a film set or an ad shoot, has reignited fervour among fans to witness their reunion on the screen, sparking hopes for a Wake Up Sid sequel.<\/p>\n

The viral Reddit video showcases Kapoor, Sen Sharma, along with Namit Das and Shikha Talsania, the protagonist’s friends from the film, engaged in something together. The Sanju star appears casually dressed in a blue shirt and off-white pants, while Sen Sharma channels her iconic Aisha look from the popular movie in a white kurta, denim, and a dupatta. The ensemble of Namit and Shikha echoes their original characters’ style from the film.<\/p>\n

It is pertinent to mention that neither the actor nor the Brahmastra filmmaker has confirmed or denied the possibility of a second installment. Several Indian news portals have, however, confirmed the said video to be a promotional clip from an advertisement.<\/p>\n

The video’s circulation stirred an outpouring of desire among internet users to see Ranbir and Konkona share the screen again. “Please make a movie both of you. Sid and Ayesha should be back,” urged a Reddit user, evoking nostalgic sentiments. Others echoed the sentiment, expressing interest in a sequel exploring the duo’s lives 15 years later. Additionally, fans lauded the Aaja Nachle star’s directorial prowess, envisioning her directing Kapoor in a film.<\/p>\n

Wake Up Sid presented a refreshing take on the complexities of adulthood, portraying Sen Sharma as a responsible and independent young woman, a stark contrast to Kapoor’s carefree character in the film. The feel-good movie also featured seasoned actors Anupam Kher and Supriya Pathak.<\/p>\n

Presently, Kapoor enjoys the success of his recent venture, Animal, while Sen Sharma garnered critical acclaim for her segment, The Mirror, in Lust Stories 2 in 2023.<\/p>\n
