The Leader of the Opposition in Senate, Dr Shahzad Wasim on Tuesday has highlighted that there is an urgent need for framing national agenda in line with the contemporary needs. He made the above mentioned statement while speaking in the senate.<\/p>\n

Noting to this he said that, \u201cThe political forces must sit together to find out some solution to the problems facing the nation and check for the minimum common ground. There is currently an urgent need to reset national priorities. Economic stability and continuity of policies should rank on top of the consensus national agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n

The PTI<\/a> Leader added that, \u201cWe will have to set ego aside, and personal and political agenda. All the major political parties have remained in power, and committed mistakes on their part. Efforts should be made to rectify the mistakes instead of pointing fingers at each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, he also referred towards those governments who had set their priority towards completing the five years term and punish the political opponents. He also mentioned about the incidents of the snatching of nomination papers, crackdown on leaders, workers and candidates of a political party and a fresh wave of terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan and noted that the conduct of free and fair elections were not possible under the current circumstances.<\/p>\n

He highlighted that the elections were a competition not a war and mentioned about the difference of opinion should not be taken to the level of animosity. He asked for bringing down the political temperature, giving way to each other and moving ahead with the spirit of tolerance.<\/p>\n

He said an environment for a healthy electoral competition had to be created where level playing field was available to all and poll campaigns could be freely conducted.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Senator, Saadia Abbasi condemned the Caretaker Prime Minister<\/a> for his remarks on the Baloch protesters, stating that he insulted the people\u2019s rights this way.<\/p>\n

Mentioning on it, she noted that the caretaker prime minister on Monday said that those protesting were anti-national people and that their sympathisers should go and join the banned outfits.<\/p>\n
