There is a possibility of serious threat to the life of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam emir Maulana Fazlur Rehman<\/a> and Awami National party provincial president Aimal Wali Khan. The warning about this has been issued by the Interior Ministry.<\/p>\n

In a letter to the chief secretaries and the inspector general of police of all provinces and circulated by the ANP, the interior ministry said it had received reports from reliable sources revealing serious threats to the life of Fazl<\/a> and Aimal.<\/p>\n

The minister in the letter mentioned that, \u201cIt is requested that extreme caution and vigilance is exercised and necessary security arrangements are made at their residences and during the movement and the public gatherings to avert any untoward incident.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, ANP leader Aimal insisted in the statement that it was not the first time that his life was under threat. He said that his party remained steadfast, so adversity did not deter them.<\/p>\n

He said that, \u201cUnlike other leaders, our leadership faces challenges head on and won\u2019t yield to terrorists despite being subjected to bomb and suicide attacks.\u201d<\/p>\n

Aimal added that he and other party leaders would continue to fight for Pakhtun nation and its rights after the princiles of Bacha Khan and were even ready to sacrifice their lives for the cause.<\/p>\n

He insisted that it was Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leader and former prime minister, Imran Khan, who labelled terrorists as \u201cfreedom fighters\u201d and acknowledged resettlement of 40,000 of them in Pakhtunkhwa.<\/p>\n

The ANP leader added that President Arif Alvi has approved the release of more than 100 high-profile terrorists after granting them forgiveness.<\/p>\n

While adding that the interior ministry\u2019s letter confirmed those concerns, he said that, \u201cWe persistently expressed serious concerns about the release and resettlement of terrorists for the political gains and undisclosed support to Taliban Khan during the elections.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wali claimed that the chief justice of the Peshawar High court granted unconditional bail to PTI leadership in cases lodged against it but \u201cignored his writ against the facilitators of terrorists.\u201d<\/p>\n
