An Anti-terrorism court (ATC), on Thursday, has acquitted the Fashion Designer and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporter, Khadija Shah. It is to be noted that, Shah was arrested by the Quetta police in her links with the PTI\u2019s May 9 violent attacks.<\/p>\n

Earlier arrested in Lahore, Shah<\/a> faced charges under Section 169 of the CrPC. Following a three day transit remand, she was brought to Quetta, where the ATC judge remanded her into the police custody for three days.<\/p>\n

Later on, she was held in Quetta police custody for over seven days period for further investigation into the May 9 riots, following the arrest of PTI Chief and former Prime Minister, Imran Khan.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, police asked for an extension of her remand, but the anti-terrorism court (ATC) judge has rejected the request of the police and discharged her from the case.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the lawyer for Khadija, Iqbal Shah, while submitting the application, asked the police to present the solid evidence supporting the allegations against her. He focused that if the police failed to prove the charges, Fashion designer Khadija Shah<\/a> should be acquitted from the case registered under Section 169.<\/p>\n

Noting to this, he added that his client, Khadija Shah was not produced in the court until 4pm, and after inquiring about her at the woman police station, the police responded by stating that, \u201cShe was not present there.\u201d<\/p>\n

The officials at the woman police station later added that, \u201cShe had been acquitted in the case and had left for Islamabad.\u201d<\/p>\n

It is to be hereby mentioned that, on Nov 15, an anti-terrorism court had granted Shah bail in the fourth and last case of May 9 protests against her. However, she was re-arrested on Nov 17 under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) ordinance for 30 days.<\/p>\n
