The Emir of the Jamaat-i-Islami (JI), Sirajul Haq on Thursday said that there is no difference between the PML-N, the PPP<\/a> and the PTI as these former ruling parties are just like the two sides of the same coin.<\/p>\n

While addressing the press conference, he added that many so-called who were part of these parties were taking advantage of the opportunity, they aligned themselves with whichever party was poised to come into power.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, JI Emir Haq, along with the Secretary General Amirul Azim, also launched the election symbol for JI, which is \u2018scale.\u2019<\/p>\n

The Emir of the JI, made an announcement that his party had fielded 222 candidates for the National Assembly and 520 for the provincial assembly seats, urging the people to vote for the JI candidates to bring the real change in the overall situation.<\/p>\n

He added that, \u201cthe political<\/a> workers had no place in the mainstream parties, which tended to support their relatives in the distribution of party tickets. Despite frequently coming to power, he contended, the mainstream parties had consistently failed on addressing the nation\u2019s problem.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said a new class of politicians was now also emerging on the country\u2019s political landscape with the launch of the sons and daughters of the heads of the mainstream parties.<\/p>\n

Haq said that the ruling elite had amassed wealth for themselves and their families, looting resources, taking loans and having those loans waived off. He asserted that 90pc of foreign loans were used for their personal benefits, making contribution to the massive debt of the nation.<\/p>\n

He mentioned that the corrupt ruling elite annually used the $18bn of resources for the personal gain, rendering the current system incapable of benefitting the common man. He argued if the ruling mafias remained intact, public welfare and the country\u2019s prosperity would remain elusive.<\/p>\n

The JI leader attributed the collapsed economy and weakened institutions to the flawed policies of the former governments of dictators and so-called democratic political parties.<\/p>\n
