While seeking a level playing field, and permission to bring out public rallies, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday has filed four petitions with the Islamabad High Court (IHC).<\/p>\n

It is to be noted that, the PTI in the petition has asked IHC for the level playing field, along with the permission to bring out public rallies and political gatherings, and the facilitation of the ongoing meetings between the party leaders and former PM Imran Khan<\/a> (Currently serving the sentence in the jail) in the run up to the February 8 elections.<\/p>\n

One of the petitions said that, \u201cThe PTI is being denied a level playing field in the different parts of the nation to hold conventions, public meetings, rallies and other political activists, which are mainly a requirement for the fulfilment of the political rights guaranteed under the different articles of the Constitution.\u201d<\/p>\n

It added that the authorities in Islamabad had denied the permission to the PTI<\/a> to hold workers\u2019 conventions, public meetings or even rallies.<\/p>\n

Whereas, in the separate petition, Former PM Imran Khan has sought the intervention of the court to permit meetings with the party members Asad Qaiser, Junaid Akbar Khan, Senators Aurangzeb Khan and Dost Mohammad Khan, and Ishtiaq Meherban, among others, to strategise ahead of the elections.<\/p>\n

The petition had further requested the court to instruct the superintended of Adiala Jail for ensuring the privacy for Khan during his consultations with his legal team.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Special Court (Official Secrets Act) has granted Former PM Khan for the permission for biometric verification to open two bank accounts.<\/p>\n

Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain has directed the superintendent of Adiala Jail for allowing bank officials to hold meeting with PTI Chief Khan.<\/p>\n

Imran Khan\u2019s counsel informed the court that the former premier needs to activate dormant bank accounts and open new ones to contest elections from Mianwali and Lahore.<\/p>\n
