LAHORE \u2013 The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly cold and dry weather for Lahore and most parts of Pakistan during the next two days.<\/p>\n

As per the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.<\/p>\n

Under these conditions, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in Lahore and most parts of the country on Thursday night, Friday and Saturday.<\/p>\n

Extremely cold weather is likely in the upper parts and northern Balochistan during the period.
Fog\/smog will continue to prevail in plains of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh.<\/p>\n

Dense fog\/smog is likely to persist in Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Okara, Kasur, Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Jhelum, Mangla, Faisalabad, Jhang, Sargodha, Mandi Bahauddin, Toba Tek Singh, Khanewal, Multan, Khanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Hafizabad, Bhakkar, Layyah, Dera Ghazi Khan and surroundings during morning and night hours.<\/p>\n

Frost may occur at a few places in Kashmir and Pothohar region during morning hours.<\/p>\n

In Lahore, the minimum temperature will likely remain between 05-07 degrees Celsius on Friday and 06-08 C on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed in most parts of Pakistan.<\/p>\n

Dense fog forced the closure of portions of Motorways (Peshawar-Swabi, Swabi-Islamabad, Islamabad-Kallar Kahar, Pindi Bhattian-Lahore, Kallar Kahar-Pindi Bhattian, Lahore-Abdul Hakim, Sialkot-Lahore, Pindi Bhattian-Faisalabad, Faisalabad-Multan and Multan-Sukkur).<\/p>\n

Less visibility also caused closure of Lahore Ring Road.<\/p>\n

Less visibility also affected normal traffic flow on the National Highway.
Fog also disrupted the schedule of international and domestic flights and that of passenger trains.
Skardu and Leh remained the coldest places in the country where the mercury dropped 09 C below freezing.
In Lahore, minimum temperature was recorded at 06 C.
Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 74 per cent.<\/p>\n
