Despite media reports, and parents\u2019 requests, the provincial government has not shared any official notification about the holidays extension.<\/p>\n<p>Lahore, the country\u2019s second largest city, witnessed a coldest day of the year on Wednesday as temperature plunged with commuters facing trouble on motorways, and flight operations remained badly affected due to dense fog.<\/p>\n<p>Amid the extreme weather condition, parents also demanded to extend the vacation by one week as early January is likely to get even colder as compared to mid-December.<\/p>\n<p>Some private schools have already announced extension in winter vacation and will open from January 8.<\/p>\n<p>Other than the chilly weather, the air quality of Lahore and other cities remained alarming polluted and the metropolis topped the grim charts.
