{"id":4039,"date":"2023-09-14T15:50:05","date_gmt":"2023-09-14T15:50:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/mariam-saqib-death-case-police-question-hotels-security-guard\/"},"modified":"2023-09-14T15:50:05","modified_gmt":"2023-09-14T15:50:05","slug":"mariam-saqib-death-case-police-question-hotels-security-guard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/mariam-saqib-death-case-police-question-hotels-security-guard\/","title":{"rendered":"Mariam Saqib death case: Police question hotel&#8217;s security guard"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>KARACHI: The Karachi police department expedited the probe into the death case of a schoolgirl Mariam Saqib who was killed during the exchange of fire between a hotel\u2019s security guard and dacoits in the Bufferzone area, ARY News reported on Thursday.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A seven-year-old schoolgirl namely Mariam Saqib got killed by a stray bullet during the exchange of fire between a security guard and dacoits in Karachi\u2019s Bufferzone area early Thursday morning.<\/p>\n<p><div class=\"ast-oembed-container \" style=\"height: 100%;\"><iframe title=\"7 Saala Bachi Jan Bahaq - Intihai Afsosnaak Waqia\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IoEESeCNz8A?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>A four-member probe team was constituted by SSP Central Abdullah Chachar to ascertain facts and arrest the culprits.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: <a href=\"https:\/\/arynews.tv\/karachi-minor-girl-killed-in-shoot-out-between-police-robbers\/\">Karachi: Minor girl killed in shoot-out between police, robbers<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The probe team will be led by SP Gulberg Jahandad while other members include DSP Shadman Town Muhammad Javaid, SHO Taimuria Zulfiqar Haider and SHO Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan Qamar Javed.<\/p>\n<p>The security guard of a local hotel was identified as Ali Raza who confirmed the death of the minor girl during the exchange of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=IoEESeCNz8A\">fire between him and the dacoits<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Police officials told the media that they sent security guard\u2019s 222 rifle for forensic examination.<\/p>\n<p>They added that it is yet to be ascertained whether Mariam Saqib lost her life after receiving a bullet from a security guard\u2019s weapon or by the firing of dacoits.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: <a href=\"https:\/\/arynews.tv\/sindh-police-training-program-amal\/\">Sindh police launch training program after Amal\u2019s death in shootout<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Police said the deceased schoolgirl\u2019s family refused to pursue legal proceedings. They added that a case would be lodged on behalf of the state if the victim\u2019s family refused to pursue legal action.<\/p>\n<p>Police also recorded testimonies of eyewitnesses and the security guard.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/arynews.tv\/schoolgirl-killed-by-mysterious-bullet-in-karachi\/\">7-year-old girl was killed<\/a> in a mysterious shooting incident in a car in Karachi\u2019s Buffer zone area on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The incident occurred early Thursday morning when the minor girl, Maryam, was sitting in the back seat of the car when suddenly a bullet hit her in the head.<\/p>\n<p>A bullet suddenly hit the child in the head and she was rushed to a hospital where she succumbed to her wounds, police said.<\/p>\n<p>The child\u2019s body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.<\/p>\n<p>According to police, the incident might have been caused by a stray bullet.
