Hollywood film franchise \u2018<\/span>Scream<\/span><\/em>\u2018 went on life support as director Christopher Landon parted ways with \u2018<\/span>Scream 7<\/span><\/em>\u2018 following the departure of its leading stars Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Melissa Barrera and \u2018<\/span>Wednesday<\/span><\/em>\u2018 star Jenna Ortega were first to leave the project and now Christopher Landon, who has worked on \u2018<\/span>Happy Death Day<\/span><\/em>\u2018 and \u2018<\/span>Freaky<\/span><\/em>\u2018 has parted ways with it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Christopher Landon addressed his departure from \u2018<\/span>Scream 7<\/span><\/em>\u2018 on the social media application X. He said it was a dream that turned into a disaster.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI guess now is as good a time as any to announce I formally exited \u2018Scream 7\u2019 weeks ago,\u201d he tweeted. \u201cThis will disappoint some and delight others. It was a dream job that turned into a nightmare. And my heart did break for everyone involved. Everyone. But it\u2019s time to move on. I have nothing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He concluded by hoping that the iconic franchise, created by the late great filmmaker Wes Craven, lives on.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
