{"id":38920,"date":"2023-12-23T13:11:12","date_gmt":"2023-12-23T13:11:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/court-extends-physical-remand-of-ex-ceo-drap-in-fake-degree-case\/"},"modified":"2023-12-23T13:11:12","modified_gmt":"2023-12-23T13:11:12","slug":"court-extends-physical-remand-of-ex-ceo-drap-in-fake-degree-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/court-extends-physical-remand-of-ex-ceo-drap-in-fake-degree-case\/","title":{"rendered":"Court extends physical remand of ex-CEO DRAP in fake degree case"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_86\">\n<div class=\"tdb-block-inner td-fix-index\">\n<p><strong>ISLAMABAD: The Judicial Court on Saturday extended the physical remand for two days of the former CEO of the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) in a fake degree case, ARY News reported.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) presented the former CEO of the DRAP, Sheikh Akhtar Hussain, before the judicial magistrate court of Judge Abbas Shah after completing two days of physical remand.<\/p>\n<p>The FIA officials claimed that an arrest had been made during the two days of physical remand of the accused and sought an extension in the remand from the court.<\/p>\n<p>After hearing the argument from both sides, the court extended the remand of the ex-CEO DRAP for two more days under FIA custody and sent the two main accused to judicial remand in prison.<\/p>\n<p>It is pertinent to mention here that the anti-corruption circle of the <a href=\"https:\/\/arynews.tv\/ex-drap-ceo-sheikh-akhtar-hussain-arrested-fake-degree-case\/\">Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested Sheikh Akhtar Hussain,<\/a> ex-CEO of the DRAP in a fake degree case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was appointed CEO of the regulatory authority based on PhD degree, which was found fake,\u201d an FIA spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p>Sheikh Akhtar Hussain was appointed as CEO of DRAP in the year 2018-19.<\/p>\n<p>The FIA arrested him after a special judge central dismissed his pre-arrest bail.<\/p>\n<p>The anti-corruption wing of the Federal Investigation Agency had lodged a case against the former DRAP CEO for holding a fake PhD degree.<\/p>\n<p>The Sri Lankan Interpol confirmed the Ph.D. degree was fake as the degree-awarding institution was not recognised.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><script type=\"rocketlazyloadscript\">\n  window.fbAsyncInit = function() {\n    FB.init({\n      appId      : '161345524510473',\n      cookie     : true,\n      xfbml      : true,\n      version    : 'v3.0'\n    });\n    FB.AppEvents.logPageView();   \n  };\n  (function(d, s, id){\n     var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];\n     if (d.getElementById(id)) {return;}\n     js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id;\n     js.src = \"https:\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/sdk.js\";\n     fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);\n   }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));\n<\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The Judicial Court on Saturday extended the physical remand for two days of the former CEO of the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) in a fake degree case, ARY News reported.
