{"id":3865,"date":"2023-09-14T02:06:05","date_gmt":"2023-09-14T02:06:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/lahore-atc-begins-process-to-declare-several-pti-leaders-proclaimed-offenders-in-may-9-cases\/"},"modified":"2023-09-14T02:06:05","modified_gmt":"2023-09-14T02:06:05","slug":"lahore-atc-begins-process-to-declare-several-pti-leaders-proclaimed-offenders-in-may-9-cases","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/lahore-atc-begins-process-to-declare-several-pti-leaders-proclaimed-offenders-in-may-9-cases\/","title":{"rendered":"Lahore ATC begins process to declare several PTI leaders proclaimed offenders in May 9 cases"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p>A Lahore anti-terrorism court (ATC) began the process of proclamation on Wednesday against several PTI leaders who could not be arrested in two cases pertaining to the May 9 episode as they had \u201cconcealed themselves\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The leaders facing proceedings in the said cases include some mainstream politicians, namely Farrukh Habib, Azam Swati, Hammad Azhar and Murad Saeed.<\/p>\n<p>They have been named in cases the two cases registered at Lahore\u2019s Sarwar Road police station in relation to May 9, when protests erupted in several cities following the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1751782\">arrest<\/a> of PTI chief Imran Khan from the Islamabad High Court premises in the Al Qadir Trust case.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"media  sm:w-1\/2  w-full  media--right  media--embed  media--uneven\">\n<p>    <iframe class=\"nk-iframe\" onload=\"setInterval(()=&gt;{try{this.style.height=this.contentWindow.document.body.scrollHeight+'px';}catch{}}, 100)\" width=\"100%\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" style=\"height:400px;position:relative\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/card\/1774736\" sandbox=\"allow-same-origin allow-scripts allow-popups allow-modals allow-forms\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>While the protests were under way, several public and private properties, including military installations, were vandalised, over which the PTI continues to face a crackdown.<\/p>\n<p>The two cases were taken up by the ATC Judge Abher Gul Khan today, who said in separate but similar orders that investigating officers had obtained non-bailable arrest warrants for the suspects from the court on July 6 and handed them over to Sub-Inspectors (SI) Shahzad Akram and Tanveer Ahmad.<\/p>\n<p>The SIs conducted raids for the arrest of the suspects, but they \u201ccould not be arrested as they concealed themselves for the fear of their arrest\u201d, the orders, copies of which are available with <em>Dawn.com<\/em>, read.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn this respect, separate statements of the process server have been recorded today.
