ISLAMABAD \u2013 \u00a0A Sessions court on Friday expressed dismay over absence of Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder Imran Khan, in the ongoing case regarding an alleged illegal marriage.<\/p>\n

Sessions Judge Qudratullah heard the case against the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi, with her lawyer, Usman Gul, presenting arguments before the court.<\/p>\n

The counsel argued that the court had ordered for jail trial, so they sent Bushra Bibi to jail for the trial and surety bonds for the bails were also readied.<\/p>\n

The judge remarked that the suspect needed to appear before the court.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy Bushra Bibi went to jail?,\u201d asked the judge.<\/p>\n

On it, the counsel said that he had some information that Bushra Bibi had security threat in appearance before the court.<\/p>\n

At this, the judge remarked that there is no rush today, so present the suspect before it. The court summoned Bushra Bibi and adjourned the hearing till her personal appearance.<\/p>\n

Later, a plea was moved to the court seeking one-day exemption to Bushra Bibi. The court accepted the plea and adjourned the hearing till January 2, 2024.<\/p>\n

Previously, the court had issued an open trial order, including confinement in any secure location, and directed the superintendent to ensure the presence of Imran Khan during the next hearing.<\/p>\n

The case, involving allegations of an illegal marriage, has been ongoing, with domestic employees and witnesses providing statements. The court has been hearing the claims made by Khawar Maneka, the ex-husband of Bushra Bibi, who filed the case against Imran Khan and his wife on November 25.<\/p>\n

Khawar Maneka had alleged violations of ethical and Islamic principles during the marriage between Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi. He claimed the unauthorized visits, inappropriate language, and the establishment of illicit relations.<\/p>\n

The court had declared the case admissible on December 11, and subsequent hearings have seen the recording of statements by key witnesses.<\/p>\n
