Driving a car, motorcycle and any other vehicle without a valid driving license is prohibited across Pakistan, including capital city of Islamabad.<\/p>\n

You can land in trouble if you are driving without obtaining the license or with expired document. It is mandatory for citizens to get their licenses renewed timely in order to avoid any difficult situation.<\/p>\n

The Islamabad Traffic Police have a smoother process for renewal of car and motorcycle license if it is applied within three years of the expiry.<\/p>\n

The applicant will require to submit some documents in case of renewal within three years of expiry of the license while the applicant has to appear for theory and driving test if it is applied after the three years.<\/p>\n

The applicant can book an appointment online with the traffic police or can go for the walk-in system. Here is the process for the walk-in process;<\/p>\n

Go to the Islamabad Traffic Police office and get a token after showing your original CNIC card at the reception.<\/p>\n

Proceed with the biometric verification and photo capturing<\/p>\n

Wait for your turn, go to the counter, and fill the form you are given by the official<\/p>\n

Attach the required documents to the form and submit it to them<\/p>\n

Pay the license renewal fee<\/p>\n

Get the confirmation slip that carries the date for receiving of the license<\/p>\n

Form-B or medical report<\/p>\n

Two passport-sized photographs.<\/p>\n

Two copies of your CNIC.<\/p>\n

Original driving license<\/p>\n

As of December 22, 2023, the fee for renewal of license within one year of expiry including Nadra verification fee stands at Rs1149 while Rs1,949 will be charged after one to three years of its expiration. After three years of expiry, the applicant will have to take driving and theory tests and pay a fee of Rs4,649.<\/p>\n
