He stated, \u201cWe are far behind our neighboring countries in education, and we need to enhance our setup. There are millions of out-of-school children who require specific attention from the government.\u201d Dr. Alvi, a longstanding advocate of Virtual University, expressed his deep affection for the institution and its mode of education, declaring, \u201cFrom the time I hold office, I have always acted as an advocate of Virtual University. I love Virtual University and its mode of education. All Universities should follow the model of Virtual University.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While commending the efforts of Virtual University\u2019s efforts ,Dr. Alvi said that when he became the president; total annual enrollment in the virtual university was 28,000 which had increased to 55000 this year which was quite encouraging.
