A record 141 Opposition MPs have been suspended from both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha in the ongoing Winter Session of Indian Parliament, which has been defined by multiple adjournments throughout the day.<\/p>\n

As many as 49 more MPs in Lok Sabha were sus-pended today (Tuesday).<\/p>\n

The latest suspension of 49 MPs came after a massive uproar in Parliament during the day, which saw the Houses being adjourned three times. Those suspended include Farooq Abdullah from Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n

The fresh suspensions, coupled with the previous 92 suspensions, took the figure to a record 141.<\/p>\n

78 MPs from the Opposition were suspended from Parliament on Monday alone for demanding resignation from Home Minister Amit Shah over the breach in Parliament security on December 13, when two protesters jumped into the lower house chamber and opened smoke cans.<\/p>\n

Indian National Congress has said that the Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party government is trying to bulldoze key legislations in an \u2018Opposition-less\u2019 Parliament.<\/p>\n

The majority of the suspensions will endure throughout the remaining winter session, concluding on Friday. The INDIA alliance, a coalition opposing Modi\u2019s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), witnessed the suspension of 95 out of its 142 Lok Sabha members and 46 out of its 101 Rajya Sabha members.\u2014KMS<\/p>\n
