The Chairman for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Gohar Khan, said that former Prime Minister, Imran Khan<\/a>, would contest the upcoming general elections from three constituencies.<\/p>\n

The information about the above mentioned came out on Wednesday. It is to be noted that, PTI Chief Imran Khan is still serving sentence in Adiala Jail.<\/p>\n

On August 5, a trial court in Islamabad had convicted Imran in case filed by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) that involved concealing information of the state gifts and jailed him for three years.<\/p>\n

The verdict meant that he was disqualified from contesting general elections for five years. However, the same month the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had suspended three year sentence of Imran but he still remains in jail in other cases.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, the IHC had reserved its verdict on Imran\u2019s petition seeking the suspension of his conviction in the Toshakhana<\/a> gifts case.<\/p>\n

While addressing the media, Gohar Khan said, \u201cPTI wanted elections to be held on February 8.\u201d He highlighted that his party had time and again stressed the need for a level playing field for all the political parties.<\/p>\n

Barrister Gohar added that Imran would be provided with his nomination papers tomorrow, vowing that \u201cKhan sahib will content these polls, God willing\u201d.<\/p>\n

While adding further on this, PTI Chairman said that, \u201cImran sahib had asked all the party workers to file their nomination papers.\u201d He added that the decision to all party tickets would still be taken by Imran. Adding further on this, he revealed that Imran would contest elections from Lahore, Mianwali and Islamabad.<\/p>\n

Barrister Gohar said he too would participate in the upcoming polls from Buner.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Barrister Zafar said the IHC was set to release its verdict on Imran\u2019s petition challenging conviction in the Toshakhana case.<\/p>\n

He said that, \u201call the PTI workers had been given the directions to file their nomination papers as the country had entered into the election mode. As long as the PTI candidates are concerned, our workers in jail, who have rendered sacrifices for the party in this difficult time, would be allotted tickets on a priority basis.\u201d<\/p>\n
