{"id":3737,"date":"2023-09-13T17:05:15","date_gmt":"2023-09-13T17:05:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/zaman-khan-part-of-pakistan-squad-as-naseem-shah-ruled-out-of-asia-cup\/"},"modified":"2023-09-13T17:05:15","modified_gmt":"2023-09-13T17:05:15","slug":"zaman-khan-part-of-pakistan-squad-as-naseem-shah-ruled-out-of-asia-cup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/zaman-khan-part-of-pakistan-squad-as-naseem-shah-ruled-out-of-asia-cup\/","title":{"rendered":"Zaman Khan part of Pakistan squad as Naseem Shah ruled out of Asia Cup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p>The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday announced that right-arm fast bowler Zaman Khan replaced Naseem Shah for the remainder of the Asia Cup 2023 for medical reasons.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"media  sm:w-1\/2  w-full  media--right  media--embed  media--uneven\">\n<p>    <iframe class=\"nk-iframe\" onload=\"setInterval(()=&gt;{try{this.style.height=this.contentWindow.document.body.scrollHeight+'px';}catch{}}, 100)\" width=\"100%\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" style=\"height:400px;position:relative\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/card\/1775457\" sandbox=\"allow-same-origin allow-scripts allow-popups allow-modals allow-forms\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>A PCB <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link--external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pcb.com.pk\/press-release-detail\/zaman-khan-replaces-naseem-shah-in-asia-cup-squad.html\">press release<\/a> issued today said Shah had injured his right shoulder in this week\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1775278\">match against India<\/a> and continued to be monitored by the Pakistan team\u2019s medical panel that was taking all necessary precautions keeping in mind the upcoming one-day international World Cup.<\/p>\n<p>It added that Khan joined the team earlier today and would train with the squad in the evening at the R Premadasa Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Providing an update on Haris Rauf who did not bowl on the reserve day of the match against India as a precautionary measure, the PCB said he \u201ccontinues to recover well\u201d after he felt discomfort in his right flank on the match\u2019s first day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese two fast bowlers are our assets and the team\u2019s medical panel will provide them the best possible care ahead of the all-important World Cup,\u201d the press release quoted the team\u2019s doctor Sohail Saleem as saying.<\/p>\n<p>Khan was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1775471\">called up<\/a> alongside Shahnawaz Dahani by the PCB a day ago after Shah and Rauf had picked up their niggles.<\/p>\n<p>The PCB had said it was \u201conly a precautionary measure keeping in mind the fitness and well-being of the players ahead of the ICC Men\u2019s Cricket World Cup next month\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday announced that right-arm fast bowler Zaman Khan replaced Naseem Shah for the remainder of the Asia Cup 2023 for medical reasons.
