After impressing fans with his powerful performance in drama serial Razia\u00a0<\/em>which aired on Express Entertainment<\/em>, actor and host Mohib Mirza has clinched the award for best actor for essaying the role of Saleem. Taking to Instagram, Mohib shared his delight through a carousel post, celebrating Razia\u2019s win in eight categories at the first edition of Drama Icon Awards 2023.<\/p>\n

Sharing pictures of himself posing with the accolade and his co-stars, the actor added a caption saying, \u201cRazia awarded 8 awards\u2026humbled\u2026my gratitude for the acknowledgement!\u201d Mohib further commended the judges and jury of the awards ceremony which included Marina Khan, Maria Wasri, Rubina Ashraf, Nadia Khan and Mukarram Kaleem.<\/p>\n

Addressing his co-stars, the podcast host thanked Mahira Khan and shared a short, heartfelt note for Momal Sheikh who could not make it to the event. \u201cMomal, missed you at the event. Without your amazing performance, Saleem would have been incomplete,\u201d Mohib penned. Aside from Mohib\u2019s Best Actor win, Razia <\/em>took home trophies for Best Director and Best Miniseries as well.<\/p>\n

In October, Mohib took to Instagram to share a glimpse of himself from the show and expressed his thoughts on the importance of challenging societal norms. The actor, who plays Razia\u2019s father Saleem in the show, used this platform to emphasize the need for awareness and change in the existing systems.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe system must be broken; awareness must be created so that the new generation is not blinded by hypocrisy and patriarchy. All children must have equal opportunities especially when it comes to education,\u201d penned Mohib in the post\u2019s caption. \u201cThank you for all the feedback on this character, Saleem. Hope his ignorance can shed some light.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The actor also expressed gratitude to the team behind the show, acknowledging the contributions of individuals such as Mo Ali Shah, Hina Amaan, and Kamran Afridi, along with the production team at Express Entertainment.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Mirza’s portrayal of Saleem in Razia <\/em>is a deliberate attempt to raise awareness about the inequalities and challenges faced by various segments of society, particularly in the realm of education.
