Bollywood director Vishal Bhardwaj admitted that he was not happy with the creative decisions regarding his film \u2018<\/span>Rangoon<\/span><\/em>\u2018.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2018Rangoon\u2019<\/span><\/em>, a romantic war drama film, follows Julia (Kangana Ranaut) journeying to the Indo-Burma border to perform for the troops during World War II, on the insistence of her lover Rusi Billimoria (Saif Ali Khan) and finds herself enamoured by soldier Jemadar Malik (Shahid Kapoor).<\/span><\/p>\n

The Vishal Bhardwaj directorial received mixed responses from fans and critics.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Vishal Bhardwaj, speaking about the film with India news agency Mid-Day, opened up about the film and said he should have disowned the project because of its final result.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He admitted the visual effects did not turn out the way it should have.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI should have put my foot down in \u2018<\/span>Rangoon<\/span><\/em>\u2018 and said I don\u2019t care about the release date,\u201d he said. \u201cThe VFX is not alright in the final scene\u2026 Those kind of pressures. Everyone\u2019s like, \u2018No, it will be a huge loss\u2026\u2019 At that time, you should become Sanjay Leela Bhansali, no matter how much loss there is, things wouldn\u2019t go like that.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>He said accepting a smaller amount for the production budget turned out to be a mistake.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYou regret those decisions. I don\u2019t regret my creative thought of <\/span>\u2018Rangoon<\/span><\/em>\u2018. It was very pure, very unique. But, of course, a film that should be made in Rs 70 crore, and I have decided to make it in Rs 35 crore, then I am foolish,\u201d the director added.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
