The six franchises \u2014 Karachi Kings, Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans, Quetta Gladiators, Lahore Qalandars, and Islamabad United \u2014 selected numerous players across six categories: \u201cPlatinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver, Emerging, and Supplementary.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, Shahzad wasn\u2019t selected by any of them. It\u2019s worth noting that he was part of the Lahore Region Whites team in a recent National T20 Cup.<\/p>\n<p>Expressing his disappointment for not being chosen by any of the franchises, Shahzad conveyed his frustration on X (formerly Twitter), starting with: \u201cAnother PSL draft goes by and same old story \u2014 didn\u2019t get picked. God knows why!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said he had tried \u201creally hard by giving it all in domestic circuit consistently\u201d in last few years, adding that is performance in the National T20 Cup was also \u201creasonably well\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere seems a deliberate effort to keep me out, even when franchises have opted for other performers with inferior numbers than me,\u201d he lamented.<\/p>\n<p>Shahzad said he knows \u201cexactly the reasons why I\u2019m not made part of the PSL \u2014 the whole country, and my fans will know it very soon\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Terming his non-inclusion a \u201cpre-planned\u201d move, he said he had decided to part ways [with the league] and \u201csaying goodbye to Pakistan Super League for my own self respect. I\u2019ve never played for money and will never do it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said he was taking the decision to \u201ckeep money out of it\u201d, adding that he was \u201coffered several contracts to play leagues yet chose Pakistan\u201d.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"media  sm:w-1\/2  w-full  media--right  media--embed  media--uneven\">\n<p>    <iframe class=\"nk-iframe\" onload=\"setInterval(()=&gt;{try{this.style.height=this.contentWindow.document.body.scrollHeight+'px';}catch{}}, 100)\" width=\"100%\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" style=\"height:400px;position:relative\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/card\/1437020\" sandbox=\"allow-same-origin allow-scripts allow-popups allow-modals allow-forms\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>He said he was thankful to Allah that \u201cI always stood firm on my moral responsibilities and have never let myself, my family and my country down\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf that\u2019s the price I have to pay for my honesty and dedication, it\u2019s really a small price to pay and I will continue doing it,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Shahzad has previously played for both Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans in the PSL.
