ISLAMABAD \u2013 The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast scattered rains for Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Friday evening\/night and the following day.<\/p>\n

According to the synoptic situation, a westerly wave is affecting western parts of Balochistan. It will likely move northwestwards and affect the upper parts of Pakistan during the next 24 hours.<\/p>\n

Under these conditions, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country on Friday evening\/night and Saturday.<\/p>\n

However, cloudy weather with light rain and light snowfall over high mountains is likely in northwestern Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan on Friday evening\/night.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, rain with snowfall over high mountains is likely in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir.<\/p>\n

light rain is also expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Potohar region and northeastern Punjab during the period. Fog\/smog is likely to persist in central\/southern Punjab and upper Sindh during morning and night hours.<\/p>\n

In Islamabad, the minimum temperature will likely remain between 03-05 degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n

In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature will likely remain between 05-07 C on Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country during the last 24 hours.<\/p>\n

However, cloudy weather and rain occurred at isolated places in western Balochistan.<\/p>\n

Leh remained the coldest place in the country where the mercury dropped 11 C below freezing.<\/p>\n

In Islamabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 02 C.<\/p>\n

Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 92 per cent.<\/p>\n

In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature was recorded at 05 C.<\/p>\n

Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 79 per cent.<\/p>\n
