Pop superstar Taylor Swift took home the top prize at MTV\u2019s Video Music Awards on Tuesday, winning Video of the Year and other honours for her hit \u2018Anti-Hero\u2019<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first single from Swift\u2019s \u2018Midnights\u2019<\/em> album, \u2018Anti-Hero\u2019<\/em> is a tale of insecurities with a chorus declaring: \u2018It\u2019s me, hi, I\u2019m the problem, it\u2019s me\u2019<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is unbelievable,\u201d the singer said on stage as she held her Moon Person statuette. \u201cThe fact this is a fan-voted award means so much to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier, the 33-year-old appeared thrilled to be receiving the pop video award from members of the 1990s boy band NSYNC, the group that won the same honour 20 years ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had your dolls!\u201d Swift said to band members including Lance Bass and Justin Timberlake. \u201cYou are pop personified. So to receive this from your golden pop hands, it\u2019s too much.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018Anti-Hero\u2019<\/em> also won Song of the year and Best Direction.<\/p>\n

Among other winners, rapper Ice Spice was named best new artist. Stray Kids, a band put together through a reality show, won the best K-pop award, and SZA scored best R&B video for \u2018Shirt\u2019<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Rema and Selena Gomez won the first MTV VMA for Afrobeats music for their collaboration \u2018Calm Down\u2019<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Performers at the ceremony, held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, included Demi Lovato, Lil Wayne, Olivia Rodrigo, host Nicki Minaj and rapper Sean \u2018Diddy\u2019<\/em> Combs, who received the Global Icon award.<\/p>\n

Minaj, who won the best hip-hop video trophy, also joined Grandmaster Flash, LL Cool J and other rap luminaries for a multi-song celebration of the 50th anniversary of hip-hop that concluded with Run DMC\u2019s \u2018Walk This Way\u2019<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Colombian pop singer Shakira was honoured with the Video Vanguard Award for lifetime achievement. After performing a bilingual medley of her hits including \u2018Hips Don\u2019t Lie\u2019<\/em> and \u2018Whenever, Wherever\u2019<\/em>, the singer saluted her fans.<\/p>\n
