A local court on Sunday sent former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry to the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) on one-day physical remand in an alleged fraud case and ordered them to present him in court today (Monday).<\/p>\n

The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) had previously sought him for a five-day physical remand. The department alleged that Fawad, through his cousin and frontman, paid Rs3.5 million to get no-objection certificate (NOC) in order to resolve land issues of a private housing society on GT Road.<\/p>\n

The former minister was brought to the court of judge Ghulam Mustafa at the judicial complex in an armoured vehicle from Adiala Prison.<\/p>\n

Fawad’s counsel Faisal Chaudhry contended that his client had been implicated in a false case which was driven by political motives. He argued that the housing society owners had no complaints, and false charges were being fabricated without valid reasons. He further prayed that Fawad be discharged from the case and be granted bail.<\/p>\n

During his appearance, Fawad Chaudhary said that he was already implicated on false charges and expected his rivals to continue filing more such cases against him.<\/p>\n
