His teammate LeBron James contributed 24 points and 11 rebounds.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bolnews.com\/sports\/2023\/02\/lebron-james-surpassed-kareem-abdul-jabbars-long-standing-record\/\">James<\/a> received another honor by being named the NBA Cup\u2019s most valuable player.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRecords will be broken, but one thing that will never be broken is being the first to do something,\u201d said James, 38.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re the first champions of the in-season tournament, and nobody can ever top that.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s great to be able to do it with such a historical franchise, and even better to do it with a great, great cast of funny, engaged, competitive men over here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With just over six minutes left, the Pacers had pulled within three points, but the Lakers responded with a 13-point run to win the game.<\/p>\n<p>For the Lakers, Tyrese Haliburton and teammate Bennedict Mathurin led the squad in scoring with 20 points apiece, while Austin Reaves scored 28 points off the bench.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bolnews.com\/sports\/2023\/12\/kevin-durant-soars-enters-nbas-top-10-all-time-scorers-list\/\">NBA<\/a> Cup final was played in Las Vegas and is the only match that is not included in the rankings for the regular season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">\u201cWe\u2019re sick, frustrated,\u201d Haliburton said. \u201cWe just got outplayed tonight from the start of the game to the end of the game.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">\u201cJust didn\u2019t do the job on loose balls, didn\u2019t rebound, didn\u2019t get enough stops when needed.
