He joined the Pakistan Army in 1964 at the age of 21. He was the elder brother of former Army Chief General Raheel Sharif and the nephew of Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Nishan-e-Haider.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #252525;\">Major Shabir Sharif Shaheed participated in the war of 1965 as a second lieutenant and bravely fought the enemy, for which he was awarded the Sitara-e-Jurat.
