KARACHI: Ahead of the upcoming general elections in 2024, the Pakistan People\u2019s Party (PPP) has decided to dispel impression of \u2018internal rifts\u2019, ARY News reported on Tuesday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

PPP\u2019s top leadership \u2013 Chairman Bilawal Bhutto and co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari \u2013 will undertake a visit to Quetta together following the rift speculations among the father-son duo.<\/p>\n

The former foreign minister will arrive in Pakistan from Dubai tomorrow. Asif Zardari and his son Bilawal will visit Quetta tomorrow evening.<\/p>\n

Both politicians will address a public gathering related to Youm-e-Tasses (foundation day).<\/p>\n

The rumours of rift were doing rounds after former President Asif Ali Zardari said that his son and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari was \u201cnot fully trained\u201d in politics and would \u201ctake time\u201d getting up to speed.<\/p>\n

Following the interview, the PPP chairman \u2018suddenly\u2019 left for Dubai followed by his father.<\/p>\n

However, the party spokesperson\u00a0said that the reports of rifts between the top PPP leadership were \u201cbaseless\u201d and that there were only differences on some issues.<\/p>\n

PPP Central Secretary Information Faisal Karim Kundi said the party chairman Bilawal Bhutto\u2019s visit to Dubai was pre-planned. \u201cRumours regarding differences between Chairman PPP & President Asif Ali Zardari are baseless,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Later, the Bhutto family put to rest all rumours of rift between the father-son duo as Bilawal and Bakhtawar Bhutto shared an image with the family.<\/p>\n

Zardari\u2019s interview<\/strong><\/p>\n

During an interview, Asif Zardari was asked about Bilawal, who in recent days has repeatedly called on the nation to let older politicians \u201cstay at home\u201d and to give someone new a chance in the general elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd then Bilawal is also not fully trained. [We] are training him,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019ll take time,\u201d the PPP leader said. At the same time, Zardari said Bilawal was more talented, educated and better spoken than him but \u201cexperience is experience\u201d.<\/p>\n

Asif Zardari asserted that the government of former prime minister Imran Khan wanted \u201cminus Zardari People Party\u201d and send me out of the country.<\/p>\n

Zardari contended that initiating a no-confidence motion against Imran Khan was the correct decision otherwise he would have stayed in power until 2028 through an RO election.<\/p>\n
