KARACHI:<\/strong> Caretaker Balochistan Information Minister, Jan Achakzai on Sunday said law enforcement agencies closed 500 Iranian petrol pumps across the province. Pumps selling smuggled Iranian petrol were sealed as a part of a nationwide crackdown against smuggling.<\/p>\n

Addressing a news conference in Karachi, Jan Achakzai said that a crackdown was underway against foreign currency and smuggled Iranian petroleum products. He said that the two accused arrested recovered more than 1 million dollars from an area of Quetta. Major currency smuggling gang busted in Quetta, he informed.<\/p>\n

Legal action be taken against smugglers<\/h2>\n

Caretaker Information Minister Balochistan added that they are working on border management, Iranian oil has become a business worth 5 billion, and more than 500 Iranian pumps have been closed in Balochistan.<\/p>\n

Jan Achakzai said that we will end the Iranian oil network, and are making a joint effort with the Sindh government to cut off the supply line. The Provincial Caretaker Minister said that the end of smuggling is part of the Army Chief\u2019s vision, and the people involved in smuggling will be deported.<\/p>\n

He said that law and order is deteriorating due to illegal Afghan refugees, it is not yet clear which Afghan refugee should be kept and who should not be kept. He said that solving the problems of Balochistan is our priority, and steps are being taken to promote the sports sector.<\/p>\n
