The PPP on Thursday termed reports of differences between Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and his father Asif Ali Zardari \u201cbaseless\u201d, adding that the former had departed for Dubai on a scheduled visit.<\/p>\n

The statements from PPP leaders came after several news channels reported<\/a> earlier today that Bilawal had suddenly departed for Dubai without informing the party leadership.<\/p>\n

The reports alleged that the departure was linked to tensions between the father-son duo following a recent interview by Zardari, in which he had said that Bilawal was not yet fully trained<\/a> while commenting on his son\u2019s political journey.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019ll take time,\u201d Zardari had said in an interview with Geo News<\/em> on Thursday night. Acknowledging that Bilawal was \u201cmore talented, educated and better spoken than me\u201d, Zardari had said: \u201cBut experience is experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

It should be noted that in recent days, Bilawal has repeatedly<\/a> called on the nation to let older politicians \u201cstay at home\u201d and to give someone new a chance in the general elections.<\/p>\n

Moreover, while speaking in the National Assembly in August, Bilawal \u2014 the youngest foreign minister in the country\u2019s history \u2014 had also implored his father and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif to take decisions that would make politics easier for the younger generation, which he said was losing hope in the country\u2019s future.<\/p>\n

In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), PPP Central Information Secretary Faisal Karim Kundi said: \u201cBilawal has left for Dubai yesterday afternoon according to his schedule after Khyber Pakhtunkhwa visit.<\/p>\n

\u201cRumours regarding differences between the PPP chairman and president Zardari are baseless,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

PPP Senator Sherry Rehman too reiterated the same. \u201cDon\u2019t know why the panicked reporting on some channels. Chairman Bilawal left for Dubai yesterday late afternoon exactly as scheduled,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Further, PPP\u2019s Shazia Marri told Geo News<\/em> that Bilawal left for Dubai after the end of his KP tour for \u201cpersonal engagements\u201d. She said there was \u201cnothing surprising\u201d about the visit and Bilawal would return soon.<\/p>\n

Marri said the reason for the visit was not what was being reported in the media, adding that an attempt way to \u201csensationalise\u201d the matter was underway.<\/p>\n

Zardari on Bilawal\u2019s views<\/h2>\n

During the Thursday night interview, Zardari was asked about Bilawal\u2019s recent remarks on generational change in politics, to which he said his son still needed more time to be fully trained.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe younger generation these days has their own thinking,\u201d Zardari said. \u201cEveryone has a right to express their thoughts. Stopping someone would only create more problems. If he (Bilawal) says, \u2018You do politics, I will not\u2019, what will I do?\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked whether he was playing \u201cgood cop, bad cop\u201d, Mr Zardari said: \u201cThis is not a police station where good cop, bad cop is played to get a confession out of someone. If Bilawal were in business with me, he would\u2019ve said the same thing. In politics, too. This is every household\u2019s story.\u201d<\/p>\n
