Three people died and at least 13 were injured in a collision between a passenger van and a dumper truck.<\/span><\/p>\n

A van carrying over a dozen passengers was rammed by a dumper truck on the Sagian Road. <\/span><\/p>\n

The passengers in the van sustained serious injuries, and rescuers shifted them to hospital where three of them died of their injuries.<\/span><\/p>\n

The victims were identified as Sadiq, Fakeer Hussain and Ehsan Ali.<\/span><\/p>\n

Their bodies were moved to the morgue for the autopsy. Police said they were investigating the matter further. <\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a 45-year-old man died after a dumper truck hit him in Shadbagh.<\/span><\/p>\n

The unidentified pedestrian had been trying to go across the road at the Ring Road when a speeding dumper truck drove into him. He was shifted to hospital but could not survive.<\/span><\/p>\n

His body was moved to the morgue for the autopsy. <\/span><\/p>\n

Accidents across province<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

At least 15 people died whereas 1,272 were injured in 1169 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) in all the 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. <\/span><\/p>\n

Out of these, 641 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 631 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by rescue teams.<\/span><\/p>\n

The majority (74%) of the accidents involved motorbikes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, the analysis showed that the accidents involved 674 drivers, 41 underage drivers, 150 pedestrians and 463 passengers. <\/span><\/p>\n

The statistics show that 251 RTCs were reported in Lahore which affected 276 people, placing the provincial capital at the top of the list followed by 86 in Faisalabad with 104 victims and Multan with 67 RTCs and 81 victims.<\/span><\/p>\n

The details further reveal that 1,287 victims were affected by road traffic crashes, including 1,039 males and 248 females, while the age group of the victims shows that 230 were under 18 years of age, 681 were between 18 and 40 years and rest of the 376 victims were reported to be above 40 years of age. <\/span><\/p>\n

According to the data 1,053 motorbikes, 61 rickshaws, 119 motorcars, 29 vans, 15 passenger buses, 31 trucks and 110 other types of vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in the road accidents.<\/p>\n
