Police arrested a man and his two accomplices over allegedly killing his wife nearly a fortnight ago, police said on Tuesday. Complainant Ijaz Khursheed informed police that his daughter, Ansa Khan, married Khawaja Faisal Mahmood in 2011. <\/span><\/p>\n

She had borrowed Rs4 million and gave it to her husband, who used the money to buy a plot. However, when she demanded the money back, her husband allegedly tortured her and the couple used to quarrel over the issue. <\/span><\/p>\n

On the night of November 2nd, the complainant stated that his son Ehtasham went to meet his sister, but neighbours informed him that she had died. He said that they immediately reached Nishtar Hospital, where doctors conducted a postmodern examination and it emerged that she was strangled to death. <\/span><\/p>\n

Police reached the hospital and started investigations, while CPO Multan Mansoor Ul Haq Rana ordered police to arrest the accused. A team led by ASP Tayyab Wazir and SHO Jalilabad Mudassir Hussain Gilani worked under the supervision of SP cantonment division Qazi Ali Raza. <\/span><\/p>\n

They were able to arrest the main accused, Khawaja Faisal Mahmood and his accomplices, Muhammad Younis and Khadim Hussain. The accused confessed to their involvement in the killing, citing the monetary dispute between the couple as the motive, police said. <\/span><\/p>\n

Property disputes often turn deadly in Punjab. In September of this year, a man allegedly shot his sister and nephew dead over a property dispute in Pakpattan. The accused and the victims lived in the same house.<\/span><\/p>\n

Police said 60-year-old Khalida Parveen and her 45-year-old son died on the spot while the suspect fled the scene. The deceased was a retired government school teacher. Police shifted the bodies of the deceased to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.<\/span><\/p>\n

RPO Sahiwal Mehboob Rasheed issued a notice on the double murder of a woman and her son and ordered the suspect\u2019s arrest as soon as possible. He further ordered DPO Pakpattan to deploy cutting-edge technology to apprehend the suspect within 24 hours. <\/span><\/p>\n
