{"id":25205,"date":"2023-11-16T16:41:58","date_gmt":"2023-11-16T16:41:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/sarah-inams-family-seeks-death-sentence-for-shahnawaz-amir-in-high-profile-murder-case-pakistan-observer\/"},"modified":"2023-11-16T16:41:58","modified_gmt":"2023-11-16T16:41:58","slug":"sarah-inams-family-seeks-death-sentence-for-shahnawaz-amir-in-high-profile-murder-case-pakistan-observer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pakistaninewspaperlist.com\/news\/sarah-inams-family-seeks-death-sentence-for-shahnawaz-amir-in-high-profile-murder-case-pakistan-observer\/","title":{"rendered":"Sarah Inam\u2019s family seeks death sentence for Shahnawaz Amir in high-profile murder case &#8211; Pakistan Observer"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>ISLAMABAD \u2013 Sarah Inam, Pakistani-Canadian girl was beaten to death by her husband Shahnawaz Amir in September last year, and the high-profile murder case continues, without any conclusion.<\/p>\n<p>In a recent development, final evidence was presented in the Islamabad district and sessions court in murder case trial and the lawyer indicates that Mr Shahnawaz Amir is guilty of brutally killing his wife.<\/p>\n<p>It was reported that a forensic analysis of Shahnawaz\u2019s mobile phone shows a picture of his deceased wife which was sent through WhatsApp, and it supports the prosecution\u2019s claim.<\/p>\n<p>The lawyer who represented Sarah\u2019s family highlighted discrepancies in Shahnawaz\u2019s testimony, and also pointed out removal of DVR from Shahnawaz\u2019s residence.<\/p>\n<p>Later, the court adjourned the hearing until November 20, as the prosecutor requested an additional 20 minutes to present more evidence.<\/p>\n<p>Last year in September, Shahnawaz, the son of former lawmaker, was held at a farmhouse in Islamabad.
